The post The Grinch: Christmas Adventures trailer reveals gameplay appeared first on Pure Nintendo.
]]>We first told you about The Grinch: Christmas Adventures back in June, but we did so without much information on actual gameplay. Those wanting to see more have just received an early gift from Outright Games via a new gameplay trailer.
The trailer “…shows off the vibrant and colorful visuals found in the game, authentically recreated from the original illustrations in the book.” That’s good news for Dr. Seuss fans, as the visuals retain their original charm. I think it would’ve been cool to see a fully 2D, hand-drawn approach to the graphics more akin to the book and original cartoon, but the trailer does capture the character’s endearing qualities.
It also highlights some gameplay elements, including platforming and runner sequences along with seasonally appropriate power-ups such as the lasso candy-cane and enemy freezing snowballs. Grinch fans will also want to know that…
The Grinch: Christmas Adventures has been designed with families in mind, with accessibility features for the youngest of gamers, as well as an asymmetric co-op mode where the second player takes control of the Grinch’s canine companion, Max. The upcoming video game is the first in sixteen years to be based on the iconic character and will serve as a brilliant introduction to the world of Dr. Seuss for a new generation of fans.
The Grinch: Christmas Adventures will be available for $39.99 on October 13th. For more information, visit the Nintendo eShop.

]]>I’ve been a fan of Samurai Shodown since playing it in arcades back in the 90s. To see the latest iteration in the franchise come to a Nintendo console is great to see! We’ll have to wait a little bit longer (Q1 2020) but SNK is working on making it worth the wait.
For starters, the game will have 5 new characters available as DLC when the Switch version launches (Rimururu, Kubikiri Basara, Kazuki Kazama, Wan Fu, and Hisame Shizumaru)–one of these being in the form of free DLC (Hisame Shizumaru). Also, for those who pre-order the Switch edition, Samurai Shodown! 2 for the Neo Geo Pocket will be included as a bonus. This is the first time that this handheld title will be made available on a new platform.
For more information, check out the official website for the game and stay tuned for more info in 2020.

]]>Nintendo has quietly introduced the ‘new’ Nintendo Switch to retailers this week and we were able to get one yesterday. If you’re looking for one yourself, call around to some local retailers and ask if they’ve received new shipments of Nintendo Switch systems. Be sure to also ask if these new Switch units have an all-red box–that’s how you’ll know the difference. If you just call retailers and ask if they have the ‘new’ Switch in stock, they’ll probably think you’re talking about the Switch Lite which doesn’t come out til Sep. 20. When I asked about ‘recent shipments of Switch systems’, then I got the information I needed.
Nintendo has some details on the battery life of this new Nintendo Switch listed on their website: https://www.nintendo.com/switch/buy-now/. They claim you can get up to 5.5 hours of Breath of the Wild in handheld mode and up to 9 hours with less-taxing games. This may not be an instant-buy for most people, but if you’re looking for more battery life on-the-go without sacrificing the ability to dock your Switch with your TV, this model is your best bet over the handheld-only Switch Lite.

]]>The trailer introduces the characters before delving into some gameplay action. Even the tune that accompanies the trailer is reminiscent of that crazy 90s show, with a cartoony country twang.
Dead End Job sees players blast their way through a crazy and colorful world, busting ghosts to earn money. As you strap a vacuum pack to your back, you’ll rely on your trusty plasma blaster to send those ghosts back to where they belong. There’s also a co-op mode for two-player action with a buddy.
Dead End Job was developed by Ant Workshop, the Scotland-based studio founded by Tony Gowland. Gowland was previously at Rockstar Games as lead level designer for Red Dead Redemption, and worked on multiple games in the GTA franchise.
Dead End job is set to hit the Nintendo Switch in Q2 2019.
If you’re into ghosts and Saturday morning cartoons, this could be your thing. Check out the trailer and let us know your thoughts.
